Life
with Curry..
..
is not predictable or easy. After a huge failure on the
obedience field in Åtvidaberg last weekend, you could say
that I wasn't quite up to do a natural ability test in
wild life blood trail tracking!!! Well, up early (I not
her, she prefer to stay in bed until she has to go up, all
day if she's allowed and coddle with dad) This morning I
started baking cookies for my sister. At the same time a
did the laundry and cleaned the apartment, you know how I
am. In the middle of the cookie baking I ran down to the cellar
to change laundry in the machine... Well when I got up to
the apartment again I discovered 2 VERY GUILTY
basenjis!!!! They had managed to steal and eat 30 unbaked
cookies!!! (I've tried ONE once and with my 70 kilos I
didn't feel so well afterwards). So I called up the judge
of the test and told her what had happened and she just
broke out in a big laughter!!! What were we going to do??
Snobben
though, had enough conscience to feel bad and threw up all
he's pray, (cookies) but Curry who was suppose to do the
test thought otherwise. Something like: - Well finders
keep so I'm keeping it!! *smile* Well she didn't seem to
feel bad so I decided to go and take the test.
At
the field/forest she trailed (as only she can) the blood
of a deer, in harmony, easy and carefully. She marked the
pray at the end and I was overwhelmed of happiness. We
made it!!!! Curies as I am I went home to look up the
official test at the homepage of the Swedish Kennel Club,
and found out that there was no other official record of a
basenji who had a license in this field!! So once again we
made history!!! She is the first basenji in Sweden with an
approved license in natural ability test of wildlife blood
trail tracking!!! And all that after eating all those
unbaked cookies!! It was, A PIECE OF CAKE, in her own
words!!!
