Princess had a nice X-mas this year with lots of treats. So did the pups by the look of it they had everything to eat and now looking very round! Soon they will open their eyes and then there will be a little more movement in the crate.

Litter no 7

So finally after being pregnant for 67 days, Princess gave birth too 4 lovely puppies! Two boys (red/white & tricolor) and two girls (brindle & red/white). Everybody is doing very well.

Our foundation bitch Ida will turn 13 years old on the 22 of december

Our beloved Ida has a hard time right now. She suddenly turned very ill and after a visit to the vet and starting a treatment we need a rapid recovery or she will not make it. We can not forsay the outcome of this. Right now we are taking one day at the time. Will this be yet another Christmas that we loose a dear family member?

Only some hours away until our 7th litter will arrive into this world. We are so excited to se genders and colors, could we have our first brindle in that tummy...? We can only wait...

Today 3 years ago I was blessed with this lovely litter. This was also the day the shuttle Discovery left earth with our famous astronaut from Sweden so In that honor all the pups got pedigree names from space ships. CONGRATULATIONS to Simon, Zäta, Kiro, Iris and Berit.

A BIG HUG and CONGRATULATIONS to Litter 1 witch turns 10 years old today! Well it feels like it was yesterday that I for the first time took part in the miracle of a basenji birth. So wonderful! What a moment to remember! One boy and 4 girls was born this day and mom Ida was so great with her litter! Doing everything in her power to serve and protect them. All pups went to loving homes! Thank you! Big hugs to Naboo, Alderaan, Coruscant, Tatooine and Malastare!

Princess tommy is growing and soon its time for her. Well 2 weeks remain but times fly. Health tests are matched between Princess and Zomba. No puppies in this combination will ever develop fanconi!

Congratulations to Barbara and Shmi for the nice results at the international dubbelshow in Budapest this weekend. Both day went very well and Shmi got two CAC and two CACIB and on sundays show she went all the way to BOB. With this Shmi is NEW HUNGARIAN CHAMPION! Congratulations also to her son Alfa also winning his title this weekend! GREAT WORK!

Well my dad has his moments when he freeks out together with his friends! This time he went to the south of sweden (Skåne) to celebrate a friends birthday and he performed in the ballet "Swan Dance" as a birthday gift! They had a good time doing this but I guess the audience had a  better time!!!! Watch the video at YouTube.

Nelson spend wonderful four days here with us at SunTribe's kennels. Its always a pleasure to have Nelson here because he is so nice and well behaved. Thanks Nelson for spending the weekend with us and you are always welcome back at any time!

Simon has been here for a visit for few days. He has been developing nicely since last time I saw him. A very handsome boy with a strong movement and angel like temper. I can see a lot of basenjis from his pedigree through Simon. How many can you see? Enjoy the photos below.

Sessan and Zomba!

We are expecting our 7th litter on december 12. We hope to have three colour combinations red/white, brindle and tricolour. Both Princess and Zomba has well known good tri-genes so I do hope at least on little tri-girl will be born in this litter. Its very exiting that we possibly could have our first brindle puppies also. Exciting times for SunTribe in december that is!! Keep up for more information further on...

Both parents are very sound and healthy. The health tests are matched and fullfill the regulations of the Swedish KC and Swedish Basenji Club. Puppy reservations highly suggested!

SLCCH SunTribe's Mara Jade Skywalker

Last race this year! Nilla did a great first race as usual and was in the lead with 77,5 points. Unfortunatly aso as usual the secound race was not as "hot" and she ended up with a 5th placing. All the basenjis did great and we did have a nice time and a pleasant last race for the season.

Nilla ended up as top 6th placing at the LC BASENJI of the YEAR of totally 22 entered. A very nice result especially as the competition was  very tough this year and she only entered 4 races. With her result she was sole basenji from SunTribe and managed to put the SunTribe name on 5th place on the list of LC BREEDER of the YEAR! Thank you Nilla!!!!

Once again I had the pleasure to attend a LC field as a veiwer along with Tuija who was starting her 2 basenjis this fine day. Nilla did a really nice first race with a record of 82 points. The secound race (and change of judges) Nille did not so well and ended up with a total of 75 points and a 3rd place of the basenjis. Congratulations to all winners this day!

This weekend I accompanied Tuija to Vallentuna for a LC race. The first one for me and there was a lot to learn! Swedish CH SunTribe's Chanton Champagne

The trip to Svenstavik has been planned since mid may but anyway we had to rearrange our travel plans the day before leaving. Luckily Tuija from Wild Pearls kennels could come along in short notice so I didn't have to drive all 10 hours to Svenstavik on my own. On friday morning we left for Sveg. We had rented a little cottage there and the view was spectacular. Very nice! We set the barbeque and had a nice evening with a lot of planning and basenji-talk.

Up early on saturday morning to drive the last hours to Svenstavik. The showground was "compact" but well arranged and we found a place for the tent near the ring. It was several hours before the basenjis so we spent the time relaxing in the sun.  

Finally time and me and Emil entered the ring! It was some very nice basenjis entered this day and the competition was tuff. Emil wonn his class with CK (champion quality) and we went on to best male cometition. I could feel the support from ringside and we went to runner up in BEST MALE this weekend also. Emil won CC/CAC, r-CACIB and finished his Swedish Title!!! 

The goal this 2 months was to make Emil Champion and so I did. In only 4 weeks time. He's entered totally to 7 SKC shows in 6 weeks time and with 2 weeks to go and 3 shows left he is already finished!!! It feels so great and I'm so proud of this "little" boy who has grown up to a fine masculine man!

My journey started at 5 am. I went by car to Ransäter and the International SKC all breed Show. At first the weather looked rather nice but just in time for the basenjis to enter the ring the rain was poring down! A lot of brave handlers entered the ring with some even more brave basenjis  - the show just had to go on! 20 basenjis entered this show and Emil went all the way to secound BEST MALE with CC/CAC and res-cacib. I hade a lot of support from Wild Pearl kennels and Pride Opala kennels THANK YOU!

Me and Emil started our journey towards Alfta on friday afternoon to spend the night in Älvkarleby and the home of Mia and Samuel and their two basenjis Luke and Ellen. At our arrival Samuel was preparing a wonderful barbeque meal and me and Mia let loose all the dogs to play in the yard. To my surprise Emil and Luke was so fond of each other that they played all evening without any fuzz. They are both 4 years old and has never met before so I was very pleased that everything went so smoothly.

On Saturday morning we left for Alfta, Mia & Luke and me & Emil. There we met Lukes nice Wild Pearls Annabell of Echo and she looks very similar to her father.

Just as we were about to enter the ring it started to rain but it went quite well anyway. Emil finished as 4th bets male with CC/CAC. Luke went all the way to BEST MALE and BOS.

Since Josephin was attending to THE ISLAND GAMES on ÅLAND this weekend I did the honors of showing/handling Emil on GOTLAND DOG SHOW. On Saturday the rain was pouring and it was not easy to show Emil so we ended up with 1st prize in quality and placed as 3rd in open class. On Sunday the weather was better but a bit windy. We finished of with 1st prize in quality and 2nd in open class with CQ and 3rd best male.

Well Josephin had a great weekend of her own winning both GOLD and SILVER for Sweden at the ISLAND GAMES on Åland. CONGRATULATIONS!

Finally Nelson JR and his mom Angelica decided that they were ready to participate in a dog show. We had a little local show today and Nelson and Angelica made their debut! I'm very proud to say that they both did very well for beeing the first time out. I hope that they will enter other shows in the future because I can se some good potential in this team! Nelson JR really surpriced me, beeing such a handsome and well behaved boy. Thank you Angelica for finally taking the step in to the showring. Hopefully there will be more...

For about 4 days I left for Gotland with my family. Mom was attending to her little cottage by the sea making it ready for the summer and I went to Halla to visit Emil and his family. I got some new photos of Emil as you can see above. Some moths ago I went to a goldsmith i Visby to have Chantons corner tooth made in to a pendant. So now being on Gotland I went back to the store to pick it up. It was very well made and beautiful. I'm so happy that I hade this made. Now I can wear it close to my heart every day!

The corner tooth that Chanton accidentaly nocked out some years ago has now become a lovely pendant for me to wear close to my heart every day!

I celebrated my birthday going to a show in Larv to suport Simon and Embla in their debut in the ring. Simon needed a little more weight and the judge thought he had to much white on the body to be in his liking so he did only get good in quality. Embla on the other hand was excellent and got first prize. Handler/owner Niklas did an excellent job showing both dogs and I hope he will try again soon.

Litter 2, Jedi-litter

...or "the dark side" was the message throughout ads and on the homepage at that time! Well that was 5 years ago and this litter was the first planned litter with black/white puppies for several of years in Sweden and who knew that we pioneered this popular color!!! CONGRATULATIONS to Obi, Albin and Laijka om your 5th birthday!

Well 2008, a very emotional year in many ways...  Lot of good things happened and some not so good things. I guess that is life.

2008 started with that we finally after hard work found a lovely home for Phantom in Gothenbourg. Thank you Kertin for taking Phantom and loving him for that sweet, sweet boy that he is.

In the end of April we learned that our star in obedience, Curry left for the rainbow bridge. Sorry to say much to early in her life. Id like to remember her with joy. She achieved some hard points in obedience making her leading of her sport amongst basenjis in Sweden. Thank you Lina and Marko for sharing your life with Curry.

Spring/summer came with several positive results in the show rings and on LC tracks in Sweden and abroad! The SunTribe kennels took a stand and won several CC, CAC and CACIBS in Sweden and in Europe! I  will always remember the nice placing won by SunTribe's Luke Skywalker at the Specialty, winning 3rd best male in very tough competition. Also participating at this show was, Emil, Simon, Embla, Luke and Ellen all with great results. THANK YOU for showing your dogs!

When winter came, we lost our loving foundation dog Chanton. He was a very loved family member and I still cry every day missing him so in my heart! For a while I lost myself in all the sorrow after my best friend ever but as they say "time heals" but I will never forget... THANK YOU dear Chanton for sharing 14 wounderful years with us.

The year 2008 finished off with some really nice events. First a nice secound place at STOKK the international show in Stockholm all breeds, with CC and RCACIB.  I'm so proud of Luke! By that he also made it to a silver medal in the competition of Basenji Male Of The Year! We would also like to congratulate SunTribe's Mara Jade Skywalker for making mommy at the last days of the year.

I specially would like to send my biggest appreciations and thanks to my puppy buyers! Several of you came to our house during the year to visit us. That was so very nice and the dogs could play in our back yard. We also had the benefit to "baby sit" some. That was a real treat and so joyful of course. I would also like to thank the SunTribe's TEAM for showing your dogs at shows and on the LC track keeping the SunTribe's name high on result lists. And thank you to those of you who during the past year left blood for the DNA marker test in USA. Providing med with valuable information! 

During this passed year, as always, there was a competition for Basenji of the year, Best breeder and best stud. Under 2008 I didn't show any basenjis myself at any show what so ever so for making some high placing on these lists are really my puppy buyers makings! SunTribe's kennels made it quite far on most of the lists and here are three placing that I'm especially proud of:
